First half of my current winter league is almost over, and I had 2 notable accomplishments. Earlier in the league, I had a 640 set in which I had 28 clean frames (clean frame = strike or spare) out of 30. Then, I closed out the 2009 calendar year with one of my best games ever: a 267 in which I went 9/ 8/ 9/ (/ means a spare in bowling scoring) followed by the last 9 strikes in a row, my best string of strikes ever.

That is impressive. I couldn't bowl that well if you paid me. I took a class on bowling, and well, let's just say I tried really hard, but never was that good at it.

I should gloat a little...I had my brother fork over $20 to me last weekend after he put it against me converting a 6-7 split while we were bowling (I converted the tough split, of course).

I've been involved in a virtual league since around the start of the second half of my season, and it was made official the other night: my team won the league championship. Virtual drinks on me!

A 286 game and a 722 set last night...

...but of the no-tap variety (which means 9 pins down on the first ball is scored a strike). The 286 still had 6 natural strikes out of the first 10, and I had a 244 w/ 6 natural in a row in the middle...so if I'm getting 9s or natural strikes most of the time, that still has to be pretty good bowling, right?
